FinTax Founder Calix: Will CARF End the 'Regulatory Arbitrage Era' in the Crypto Industry? FinTax founder Calix @FinTax_CN shared on the Wu Blockchain Unchained podcast that the implementation of CARF doesn’t mean the tax regulatory arbitrage opportunities in the crypto industry will disappear overnight. He likened it to a 'big but loose net,' suggesting that the framework’s coverage, operational mechanisms, and data effectiveness will require long-term practice and adjustments. He pointed out that crypto tax regulation operates on three levels: information collection and cross-border exchange, determining tax obligations based on each country’s tax laws, and individuals and businesses achieving tax compliance. CARF itself doesn’t decide who should pay taxes, what taxes to pay, or how much to pay. In his view, there are still many crypto-related scenarios that remain insufficiently covered, meaning tax regulatory arbitrage opportunities may persist for a long time and continue to evolve alongside regulatory efforts.
