The good news: U.S. gross withdrawals hit a record 137 Bcf/d in July, mostly from the Permian. That helps the domestic balance.
The bad news: it cannot replace Qatar. Hormuz disruptions still keep offline most of the supply that made up ~20% of global LNG trade, and U.S. export terminals are already near practical capacity, with only limited new trains ramping up.
