[Sources Claim Dubai Air Co-Pilot Originally Planned to Crash Plane into Israeli Airport Terminal] According to a report by Golden Finance on October 5, citing information from Israeli sources on October 4 local time, Omani co-pilot Hamam Hamami, who attacked the captain on a Dubai Air passenger plane on September 30, confessed during his trial in the UAE that he had originally planned to crash the aircraft "directly into" Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. Sources stated that Hamami chose to attack the captain while the plane was flying over Jordan, intending for the aircraft to continue flying normally until it was close to reaching Ben Gurion Airport, at which point Israeli military aircraft would not have enough time to intercept it, and then crash the plane into the airport terminal. The injured captain, at all costs, managed to open the cockpit door and thwarted Hamami's plan. Israeli sources revealed that during interrogation, Hamami admitted that he had planned the attack even before being hired by Dubai Air. He had researched which airlines operated routes to Tel Aviv and applied for jobs, eventually being employed by Dubai Air. (CCTV News)
