New updates on US-Iran negotiations. Iran announced today that the US has responded through intermediaries to Iran's proposed '7-day plan.' Currently, Iran is reviewing it internally and will announce its final stance through appropriate channels once confirmed. This plan, proposed by Iran's Foreign Minister, largely follows the framework of the memorandum of understanding from June this year. The goal is to push for an end to the conflict, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and resume negotiations for a final peace agreement.
According to the timeline shared by Araghchi, the 7-day schedule will only begin after the US accepts the proposal. The first four to five days will be used to complete relevant steps, the Strait will reopen on the sixth day, and final agreement negotiations will start on the seventh day. The specific details of the US response have not yet been disclosed. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister stated that while reviewing the US's feedback, Iran is also preparing for 'other scenarios.'
The US and Iran have been dragging this out for so long without any clear results. Personally, I’m losing confidence that the war will end before the midterm elections, or even by 2026. Most likely, this will turn into a war of attrition to see who gives in first. But if Trump doesn’t want Iran to hold the midterms hostage, there’s a real chance Iran might be the one to cave first.
Bitcoin’s movement is still within expectations. Staying above $82,000 on Monday shouldn’t be an issue. There’s no major data release next week, but earnings season is coming up, so we should be prepared for significant volatility. For now, it’s still a good time to buy bitcoin:native with dual currencies.
