BTC
I would be very surprised if the current downside cluster remains untouched.
Over the past few weeks, a massive amount of liquidity has built up right around the $80k-$82k region.
This area has so far constantly been frontrun, giving BTC the opportunity to engineer even more liquidity around
that level.
Most people are currently waiting for this exact liquidity cluster to get taken out so they can position themselves for the next larger bounce.
But considering that we still have the triple highs sitting above, alongside some fresh liquidity from the recent selloff, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see another move towards the highs first.
This type of price action is actually quite common around obvious liquidity targets like this. When everyone is anticipating the same downside sweep, fresh shorts continue entering the market, only for price to repeatedly squeeze them out by taking the highs first.
This can continue until a large part of that short positioning has been flushed and the market is no longer as aggressively positioned for the move lower. That is often when the actual selloff happens and price finally moves into the liquidity everyone had been targeting in the first place.
