Can the Democrats winning Congress put an end to the war between the U.S. and Iran? In my personal opinion, even if the Democrats win the midterm elections, the U.S. war with Iran might not end immediately. This election determines control of Congress, but Trump is still the president. Losing the congressional majority doesn’t mean he’ll hand over military command. What the Democrats can do is make it harder for Trump to continue the war. For example, they could block additional military funding, push for legislation to limit military actions, or demand the government disclose how much the war has cost and how long they plan to keep fighting. These measures could put pressure on Trump, but the already approved military budget won’t be rolled back because of the election results. New restrictions would also need enough support from lawmakers and could still face a veto from Trump. As for impeaching Trump, the Democratic leadership hasn’t ruled out this option, but even if the House passes impeachment, it doesn’t mean Trump would immediately step down. And even if he did, Pence would take over, and it’s hard to say if the war would end right away. So, if the Democrats win, it might become harder for Trump to secure funding for the war, and he’ll face more opposition. But expecting Trump to quickly end the war likely has little to do with Congress. A shoutout to @Gate, trade more markets!
