The current AI short drama market is starting to feel more and more like the altcoin scene. Production costs and distribution barriers are getting lower and lower, leading to an explosive growth in quantity. Aside from a few standout dramas that everyone talks about, most of the rest go completely unnoticed. Time travel, systems, revenge plots, cute kids... Once a theme becomes popular, countless reskinned versions quickly pop up. It's not that there aren't good ones out there, but finding the gems that suit your taste among the overwhelming amount of content is tough—it mainly relies on word-of-mouth from friends or social media. In the early days of watching AI short dramas, it was easy to feel the thrill and marvel at "Wow, AI can already do this!"—kind of like how people used to be amazed by some altcoins, thinking "Wow, you can play it like this?" But the more you watch, the more you notice the heavy reliance on templates, the glaring script and fundamental flaws. You can't dig too deep; it's neither satisfying nor worth abandoning entirely. As production costs continue to drop, what's becoming scarce isn't 'content' anymore—it's attention, and the ability to sift through the flood of content to find the real gems.
