[U.S. CFTC Chairman Discusses Follow-Up to the 'CLARITY Act': Regulatory Agencies Will Continue to Introduce New Rules in the Crypto Sector Based on Existing Authority]
Golden Finance reported on October 4, according to WOLF Terminal, that Michael Selig, Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), discussed the follow-up work on the 'CLARITY Act': 'Regulatory agencies already possess a significant amount of existing statutory authority. While participating in the President's Working Group on Financial Markets for related work, we simultaneously studied statutory authorizations and legislative-level powers. There is an entire chapter in the report dedicated to explaining how we can utilize our existing regulatory authority.'
Regarding the current regulatory stance: 'The President already has a plan in place, and we are prepared as well. The time for action has arrived. We will continue to introduce regulatory rules to ensure readiness for the arrival of new financial sectors.'
