🚨HUGE: Arctic shipping just hit a RECORD 133 voyages in a single month, more than 4x 2022's level, as the Iran war diverts ships. Vessels are taking Russia's Northern Sea Route to avoid war-hit routes through the Middle East and Red Sea, per the FT and Lloyd's List Intelligence. A record number of crude oil tankers also used the route. One Chinese container ship sailed from China to the UK in 24 days, versus 40 or more via the Suez Canal or Cape of Good Hope. Almost half the voyages were Russian-flagged, with permits issued by Russia's state-controlled Rosatom.
