[Aave Labs Proposes Establishment of Aave Foundation to Hold and Protect Protocol Intellectual Property] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on October 3, the decentralized lending protocol Aave community released a Request for Comments (ARFC), proposing the establishment of a "memberless" foundation entity, Aave Foundation, in the Cayman Islands to hold the intellectual property of Aave trademarks, core domain names, and code repositories. According to the proposal, the structure will be implemented in phases. The first phase involves only the establishment of the entity and the appointment of independent directors and supervisors, with the required expenses covered by the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) and no regular budget allocated. Aave Labs and other service providers will not have the authority to serve as or appoint directors. All governance decision-making power will remain with the Aave DAO, and the foundation will not have governance, voting, or veto rights. Its sole responsibility will be to legally hold and maintain the relevant intangible assets on behalf of the protocol. If the community reaches a consensus, the proposal will proceed to off-chain and on-chain governance processes for voting.
