[European Regulatory Proposal May Restrict User Access to DeFi, Aave Founder Stani Kulechov Criticizes] Odaily Planet Daily News: Stani Kulechov expressed disappointment in a post regarding the European Central Bank and European Banking Authority's response to the MiCA consultation. The proposal advocates banning stablecoin yield payments and suggests restricting crypto asset service providers from offering users access to DeFi. It also proposes limiting the user base that can access DeFi through 'suitability tests' and considers implementing a certification system for DeFi lending protocols, though the actual execution framework remains unclear. Stani believes that allowing regulatory bodies to decide which protocols are suitable for European users could lead to more closed ecosystems, weakening the liquidity and network effects of open financial networks. Excessive restrictions could also hinder innovation. He stated that stablecoins, DeFi, and tokenized securities have the potential to reduce friction in financial services, enhance transparency, and expand access to financial services for users. He urged European regulators to place users and their interests at the core of the regulatory framework, asserting that 'DeFi will ultimately prevail.'
