[Arthur Hayes: The U.S. may support AI and Treasury bonds through money printing, driving up cryptocurrency prices] According to Cointelegraph, Maelstrom Fund Chief Investment Officer Arthur Hayes stated that U.S. policymakers might resort to money printing to support AI and U.S. Treasury bond financing, thereby driving up cryptocurrency prices. Hayes noted that AI companies require trillions of dollars to build data centers, and even though the cost of their services is decreasing, they have few options other than printing money to make the situation less dire. Hayes also discussed how a major Asian country might shift from a 'mild tightening' policy to large-scale monetary stimulus, which could revive demand for scarce assets. Regarding Europe, he mentioned monitoring financial pressures in France, including credit default swaps related to BNP Paribas and French government bond spreads. Hayes remarked that money printing will eventually occur at some point, but it is a slow-moving disaster unfolding beneath the surface.
