The most lacking thing for AI in the past two years may not be models, but computing power.
Large model AI Agent、 There are more and more automated services, and the computing demand behind them is also constantly increasing.
But there is a very real problem with the traditional computing market: high-performance computing resources are increasingly concentrated in a few data centers, and it is difficult to avoid cost, geographical location, and supplier dependence.
@The interesting thing about Acurist is that it has changed its approach:
Why do we have to rely on large data centers?
There are actually billions of smartphones worldwide, which have CPUs, memory, networks, and a large amount of underutilized computing power.
Acurist's goal is to turn these devices into decentralized Compute Providers.
Developers can apply API、 Scheduled tasks, even LLM inference deployment on this network; Mobile phones serve as processors for executing computational tasks and receive incentives according to network rules.
I actually think ACU is more worthy of research than just "DePIN mining tokens" here.
Because ACU itself is the native economic unit of the Acurist network:
⊙ Payment network transaction and deployment related fees
⊙ Reward participants who provide computing resources
Used for Staked Compute to provide economic security to computing resources
Holders of coins can participate in on chain governance
That is to say, what Acurist really needs to run is not a narrative of "earning coins by hanging up on the phone".
The core is still:
Do you have real computing needs
Are there any developers willing to use the internet
Is there enough Compute Provider to provide resources
Can these computational requirements ultimately lead to sustained use of ACU
This is also why I think the direction of AI x DePIN is worth further observation.
If there are more and more AI applications in the future and the demand for computing power continues to overflow, then 'who will provide these computing resources' itself is a huge market.
Acurist has brought mobile computing power into this market, providing at least a completely different route from traditional cloud computing.
At present, the official documentation already supports various workloads including Web Server, API, automated tasks, Telegram Bot, Headless Browser, and LLM inference.
For ordinary users, they can also become Compute Providers by running Acurist Processor on supported mobile phones.
If you have been following AI+DePIN recently, this project can be put on the watchlist to take a look.
In addition, the creator activity of @ Acurist × XHunt has already started, and the activity period is from September 30th to October 25th, with a maximum of 2 valid works counted per week.
If you want to know how to use mobile computing power specifically, you can research it yourself.
