[U.S. Deploys Additional 'Patriot' Systems to Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Preparing for Escalation] BlockBeats News, October 2: According to a report by AXIOS, citing two U.S. officials and a regional source, the U.S. military has deployed two additional 'Patriot' missile defense systems to the Middle East in recent weeks to protect oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The U.S. aims to reassure its two allies that if Trump decides to resume large-scale military actions against Iran, the U.S. will safeguard their critical energy infrastructure. On Thursday, Trump stated that he is considering resuming bombing operations in the coming weeks. He said: 'Now I must make a decision: either Iran signs an agreement, or it will cease to exist.' If large-scale military actions are resumed, the U.S. will need Saudi Arabia to allow the use of its airspace. However, if Saudi Arabia believes its oil facilities cannot be adequately protected, it is unlikely to approve U.S. use of its airspace.
