The results show that 69.2% of accounts ultimately fell below the breakeven point, with cumulative losses amounting to $338.9 million. Among the accounts that incurred losses, 15.2% did not open new positions within 30 days, compared to 6.1% for accounts that were profitable. The report defines 'expert traders' as accounts that traded in at least five categorized markets and concentrated over 60% of their trades on a single theme, accounting for 44.1% of all accounts. Among these, sports-themed accounts represent 47% of all expert traders but only 25.1% achieved profitability, marking the lowest among all themes. Technology and science-themed accounts had the highest profitability rate at 41.2%, though the sample size was relatively small.
