[Ethereum Proposal EIP-8363 Withdrawn by Authors, No Longer Considered for Inclusion in Ethereum Hegotá Upgrade] Reported by Golden Finance, on October 2, one of the co-authors of EIP-8363, Jerome de Tychey, posted on the X platform stating: Regarding the consideration of including EIP-8363 in Hegotá, we have decided to withdraw the proposal. After its release, EIP-8363 quickly became one of the most commented EIPs in the history of the Ethereum Magicians forum, garnering over 200 comments within just a few weeks. As the Hegotá CFI (Consideration for Inclusion) process progressed, various stakeholders in the industry, as well as contributors to Ethereum's core protocol and clients, suggested that a hard fork is not the appropriate context for addressing issuance policy adjustments. We agree with this perspective. Rather than continuing to push forward under this framework, it is better to acknowledge this now and pause. This topic is highly significant and has sparked numerous concerns, making it worthy of establishing an independent discussion and decision-making process. We are committed to creating a dedicated mechanism for discussing Ethereum's issuance policy and express our gratitude to all parties, including Lido, who are willing to assist in advancing this initiative. We still stand by the core motivations proposed in EIP-8363, particularly: 'The extremely high staking rate presents two distinct issues... One is maintaining Ethereum's security, neutrality, and resistance to capture; the other is preserving ETH's role as a currency.'
