[OFAC Sanctions Tren de Aragua Money Laundering Network Including 7 Crypto Addresses] According to a report by Chainalysis on October 1, Gold Finance reported that on September 30, the U.S. Treasury Department's OFAC sanctioned the multinational criminal organization 'Tren de Aragua' for its ATM skimming and money laundering network, targeting a total of 10 entities, including 7 crypto addresses (all deposit addresses at a major exchange). The organization's leader, Aguirre, is one of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted fugitives, suspected of orchestrating attacks using the Ploutus malware, causing at least $40.73 million in losses and over 1,500 attacks as of August 2025. Chainalysis stated that the network extensively uses stablecoins for cross-border transfers of illicit funds, and Tether has previously frozen related USDT wallets.
