After 2.5 months, Hyperliquid's killer @Ostium has finally announced the compensation plan for the $23.75M protocol hack.
TLDR:
Big wallets sacrificed to fully compensate small wallets. Yep, Ostium isn’t compensating big and super-big wallets.
As of now, Ostium has only recovered about 650K USDC of the stolen funds, which is far from the total $23.75M stolen.
The clever Ostium decided to fully compensate wallet addresses with losses under 1,000 USDC. For wallets with losses over 1,000 USDC, they can either immediately claim 1,000 USDC and waive their rights to the remaining assets, or wait for phase two compensation—those who know, know.
Interestingly, Ostium has already generated over $20M in protocol revenue but hasn’t mentioned using that revenue to compensate big wallets.
The mindset speaks volumes.
