《PCE Quick Take: Inflation Below Expectations, Short-Term Bullish for BTC》
The U.S. August Core PCE YoY came in at 3.0%, below the expected 3.3%, marking the lowest level since February.
The drop in inflation is bigger than the market anticipated. Previously, it was priced in as “very sticky,” but it directly fell to 3.0%, creating an expectation gap.
The probability of a rate hike in October is likely to drop below 50%. There were already internal disagreements within the Fed, with Williams dovishly stating that there’s “no need to act urgently.” This data gives the doves more ammunition.
Short-term bullish for BTC. $83,800 has been consolidating for so long, and this data might act as a catalyst for a breakout. $85K is the key resistance; breaking it could lead to $87,000.
However, Friday’s Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) report is still coming. Tonight’s data is just the appetizer; NFP is the main course.
No need to rush into long or short positions on Bitcoin right now. My prediction is that BTC will likely continue to consolidate in a narrow range for now, building momentum. Let’s see how strong Friday’s main course turns out to be.
