[ETF Store President: AI Trading Bots May Have Greater Impact on Active Fund Managers] According to a report by Jinse Finance on September 30, Nate Geraci, President of The ETF Store, shared his views on social media, stating that the proliferation of AI trading bots may have a far greater impact on active fund managers than on retail investors. He noted that AI is rapidly making financial markets more efficient than ever before, with retail investors quickly narrowing the information gap—a gap that continues to shrink due to AI advancements. Over 80% of U.S. large-cap fund managers have historically underperformed their benchmarks, and after accounting for fees, it becomes even harder to outperform AI bots. While he acknowledged that fund managers are also using AI, he argued that financial and market information has now become almost a "commodity," raising questions about the true "advantage" of active management. However, he also believes that retail investors using AI to trade stocks and options may have a net negative impact on their investment performance.
