[SEC Chairman: Will Clarify On-Chain Financing Rules Within Statutory Authority] Odaily Planet Daily News - U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chairman Paul Atkins stated that despite the failure of the CLARITY Act to pass Congress, the SEC will clarify on-chain financing rules within its statutory authority. On September 15, the U.S. Senate failed to advance the CLARITY Act with a vote of 49 to 50, falling short of the required 60-vote threshold. Atkins has not disclosed whether the related guidance will take the form of exemptions, registration pathways, or staff guidance. Previously, on September 17, the SEC paved the way for tokenized stocks and issued 9 FAQs on September 25, explaining the impact of token issuers' commitments on securities classification. Commissioner Hester Peirce will step down on October 2, leaving only Atkins and Mark Uyeda as the remaining commissioners at the SEC. (Bitcoin.com News)
