Take a look at Zhao Changpeng's life experiences and past and present lives
Zhao Changpeng, also known as CZ, comes from a rural family in Jiangsu Province. When he was a child, his family had no electricity or running water, and he relied on kerosene lamps to do homework at night. At the age of twelve, I immigrated to Vancouver with my family. My English is average and I don't have much money. I have fried French fries at McDonald's and worked night shifts at gas stations. Later, he studied computer science at McGill, interned at the Tokyo Stock Exchange to write matching systems, and then worked at Bloomberg in New York to develop futures trading software. In his twenties, he was able to lead a team of dozens of people.
In 2005, I returned to Shanghai to establish Fuxin and worked as a high-frequency trading system for securities firms for eight years. When I left, my equity was basically zero. When a person reaches middle age, the hardest asset in their hands is the one in Shanghai.
His relationship with encryption cannot be separated by three coins. The positioning is completely different: Bitcoin is the faith he exchanged for real gold and silver, BNB is the fruit of his career, and Crow Coin is more like a sign he sees right.
Bitcoin is the cornerstone for his entry into the industry. In a game in Shanghai in 2013, someone mentioned this to him. He went home and read the white paper. The more he read it, the more he felt that it was not another Internet product, but a set of account books that did not rely on banks or the government. My friend advised him to give 10% of his assets a try.
Later, I sold my house in Shanghai and left my company for eight years. Once the money was received, I bought Bitcoin in batches at an average price of around $600. The result was quickly met with Montego's violent thunder, causing the coin price to plummet again and again, and later the house also rose. His family scolded him for not doing his job properly, and he gritted his teeth and didn't sell. In those years, he also worked as a developer on Blockchain and as a technical leader at OKCoin, but he didn't stay for long. Bitcoin is not just for him to speculate, but to bet the rest of his life on the survival of decentralized digital gold.
BNB is the majority of his personal holdings. In the summer of 2017, a group of people were eating hotpot in Chengdu and decided not to rely on traditional financing, but to directly issue coins. The white paper was written quickly, and the ICO raised approximately $15 million in about two weeks. On July 14th, the platform was launched and within five months, it surged to the top of global trading volume. BNB was originally designed to offer discounts on transaction fees, but later it was tied to quarterly destruction and then to the public chain ecosystem. Binance grows up, BNB grows up with it; Most of his wealth also lies on this. Simply put, Bitcoin proves that he believes in this industry, and BNB proves that he has turned the exchange into a business.
Crow coins are another way. In 2018, everything was filled with ICOs, pre mining, team lockdowns, and VC storytelling. RVN is the opposite: no ICO, no pre mining, no team reservation, pure community proof of work mining, like early Bitcoin where 'whoever has computing power gets the coins'. Binance offered high prices for many projects at the time, but RVN received the official announcement stating a listing fee of 0 BNB. For the platform, this is a public statement: community coins distributed fairly can not be used as ATMs; For miners, as soon as they enter the university, those who mine graphics cards have an outlet.
Zhao Changpeng himself may not consider RVN as the main warehouse, but this matter is more like recognizing a certain temperament. Don't cut it as soon as it comes up, first clean up the distribution.
The later scenes were even more lively: 9.4 regulation, moving the company overseas, making the exchange the world's number one, pleading guilty in the United States in 2023, serving four months in prison, and receiving amnesty again. The person is still the same, and the division of labor among the three coins has not changed. Bitcoin is the belief he gained from selling his house, BNB is the ledger he created after turning the exchange into an empire, and RVN is the statement he made when he was willing to give the green light to fair mining projects. The position may be different, but the taste is connected: a person who has walked all the way from kerosene lamps, McDonald's, to writing trading systems, ultimately puts their wealth and temperament on who can truly send out the coins and keep clear accounts.
Looking back on Zhao Changpeng's half life, he has had mixed achievements and failures. Some people say that he rose to become the richest Chinese man by harvesting leeks. Some people also say that he has vision, courage, and knows how to judge the situation. @cz_binance
