The protocol will continue to be operated by the existing team. Cindy reflected on the journey, recalling how she and her co-founder built the on-chain perpetual contract exchange five and a half years ago, which launched on Solana in November 2021 and achieved a cumulative trading volume exceeding $150 billion. In April this year, the project suffered a cyberattack by North Korean hackers. After 10 sleepless nights, the team reached an agreement with Tether to restore user assets and fully upgraded security measures to rebuild the exchange. Velocity has now completed audits and is fully open-source, officially relaunching today. The team will continue to focus on asset recovery, technical upgrades, and growth efforts.
