**[Michael Saylor Seeks to Restart Strategy's Financing Engine, Daily Dividend Proposal for Preferred Shares Likely to Pass]** BlockBeats News, September 30: According to Bloomberg, Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor is seeking to adjust the dividend mechanism for the company’s preferred shares, proposing to change the payment of dividends on billions of dollars worth of preferred shares from biweekly or quarterly to daily. The annualized yield for these securities can reach as high as 12%, and Saylor claims this move will help improve liquidity and market efficiency. Previously, Strategy primarily raised funds to purchase Bitcoin by selling common stock. However, as the premium of common stock relative to its Bitcoin assets disappeared, the company shifted to issuing perpetual preferred shares that do not dilute the equity of common shareholders. These securities have no fixed repayment date and can provide Strategy with a new source of financing. Currently, Strategy has over $14 billion in preferred shares in circulation. Although the company has repurchased more than $1 billion of floating-rate preferred shares (STRC), it has not been able to issue new STRC since May. Analysts point out that increasing the frequency of dividend payments mainly reduces dividend-related volatility but does not eliminate credit or Bitcoin price risks, nor does it necessarily enhance market liquidity. The shareholder vote on this proposal will conclude on October 28. Given that Saylor is the primary shareholder of Strategy, the proposal is expected to pass. [Original Link]
