[Bain Reportedly Considering Bid for U.S. Data Center Company Edged, Deal Valuation May Exceed $15 Billion]
According to a report by Jinse Finance, Bain Capital is reportedly seeking to acquire the data center company Edged, a subsidiary of Koch Inc. This deal would mark Bain's largest bet on the U.S. artificial intelligence infrastructure boom, after previously adopting a wait-and-see approach. Sources familiar with the matter stated that Bain has been in discussions regarding the acquisition of Edged.
Edged was co-founded by Koch and entrepreneur Jakob Carnemark and is responsible for developing, building, and operating data centers. Bloomberg previously reported that Koch's subsidiary, Koch Real Estate Investments, had solicited bids for Edged, with the deal potentially valuing the company at over $15 billion. If the transaction is completed, it would be Bain's first large-scale private equity investment in the U.S. data center sector, signaling a shift in its strategy.
