According to Bloomberg, early Bitcoin cryptographer and Blockstream co-founder Adam Back is facing pressure across several Bitcoin-related ventures. Blockstream’s Liquid Network recently experienced a $320 million security incident, with approximately 4,000 BTC transferred out. The attacker later returned 3,400 BTC but still retained BTC worth around $47 million.
At the same time, Bitcoin treasury company BSTR, where Back serves as CEO and co-founder, has terminated its business merger with Cantor Equity Partners I. Additionally, Blockstream’s spun-off Bitcoin mining business has partnered with Exacore, which has recently been involved in multiple legal disputes over equipment procurement, contractor payments, and electricity bills.
Bloomberg noted that Back’s roles in these projects vary, and Blockstream stated that it has no operational involvement, affiliation, equity, or contractual relationship with Exacore.
