Today, I received Amb. Takahashi Misako, the assistant Minister for African Affairs, and her delegation from Japan. I thank the Japanese Government for the support it has given Uganda over the years, including the Kampala Flyover, the cable stayed bridge in Jinja and many other infrastructure projects. I told them that we want to acquire road equipment directly through the Japanese Government, without middlemen. Every urban centre should have its own equipment instead of sharing with the whole district. I also welcome more Japanese companies to invest in Uganda. Our aim is global affluence, everybody to be rich. When Uganda and Japan prosper together, everybody benefits.
