[Tether: Approximately $550 Million in Iran-Linked USDT Frozen This Year] Foresight News reports, according to the Tether blog, since 2026, approximately $550 million in USDT linked to the Central Bank of Iran and Iran's sanctions network has been frozen. In April this year, Tether, based on information provided by OFAC and U.S. law enforcement agencies, assisted the U.S. government in freezing over $344 million USDT across two addresses. The following day, OFAC designated these two addresses as digital currency identifiers for the Central Bank of Iran. In July, the U.S. Treasury Department added four additional TRON addresses to its sanctions against the Central Bank of Iran, resulting in the freezing of over $130 million USDT across the four wallets. Tether stated that it is currently collaborating with over 340 law enforcement agencies across 67 countries and has cumulatively assisted in freezing assets exceeding $4.9 billion, of which over $2.4 billion is related to U.S. authorities.
