[Chainlink Releases CCIP 2.0, Allowing Enterprises to Add Custom Cross-Chain Security Validation] According to a report by CoinDesk on September 28, as cited by Jinse Finance, Chainlink has launched Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) 2.0, enabling enterprises to add custom security validation for cross-chain transfers on the default 16-node validation network. Enterprises can also build their own validators or hire third parties. This upgrade comes five months after the $292 million theft from Kelp DAO in April—at the time, its LayerZero bridge relied solely on a single validator (the attacker is suspected to be the North Korean Lazarus Group). CCIP 2.0 also introduces adjustments: the original Risk Management Network will no longer conduct independent reviews, leaving users without additional validators effectively with only one layer of validation. Existing users have been automatically migrated, but Chainlink has not yet disclosed which institutions have adopted the new validators.
