[Zano Rolls Back One Month of On-Chain Records Due to Gateway Address Vulnerability, Restarts from Block 3,833,000]
According to a report by crypto.news on September 28, as covered by Jinse Finance, the privacy-focused blockchain Zano has restarted its blockchain from block 3,833,000, rolling back approximately one month of on-chain history to eliminate unauthorized circulation of ZANO and Freedom Dollar (fUSD) during the vulnerability period. The restart point is prior to the hard fork 6 activated on August 26 that introduced the affected functionality. The project team stated that spending keys and transaction privacy were not compromised, and consensus was not impacted. Nodes, miners, mining pools, and exchanges are required to upgrade to version 2.2.3.600 to follow the restored chain, and transactions during the rollback period will not be included in the restored chain. MEXC has suspended deposits and withdrawals for ZANO and fUSD. Compensation will utilize development funds, team holdings, and funds from major stakeholders, without issuing additional ZANO. No further details were provided in the original report.
