Bitget CEO: Approximately $388 million in assets transferred by hackers, protection fund to be replenished to over $300 million within a week. Bitget CEO Gracy Chen stated during a livestream that attackers exploited vulnerabilities in third-party security products to steal internal network credential permissions, forging withdrawal instructions to the wallet system and bypassing risk control verification. Private keys were not leaked, and cold wallets remain unaffected. The vulnerability has been fixed, and the incident is now fully under control. It has been confirmed that approximately $388 million in assets were transferred. The attacker’s address and on-chain tracking data have been publicly disclosed. Gracy Chen emphasized that the losses will be fully covered by the user protection fund, and Bitget will replenish the fund to at least $300 million within a week after its utilization. Bitget has already initiated asset recovery plans and will share confirmed vulnerability and attack information with relevant industry parties.
