[Bloomberg Analyst: MVDA's Volatility Over the Past Decade is 3x Nasdaq's Yet Delivers Zero Returns, ETF Approval May Mark Crypto Market's Cycle Peak]
Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on September 28, Bloomberg Intelligence Senior Commodity Strategist Mike McGlone (@mikemcglone11) stated that the Market Vector Digital Assets 100 Index (MVDA) has ceased outperforming the Nasdaq 100 Index (NDX) since the launch of Bitcoin futures in 2017. Despite MVDA's volatility being approximately three times that of NDX, its performance over the past decade has been flat and positively correlated with NDX, failing to provide effective portfolio diversification value. McGlone believes that the approval of a U.S. Bitcoin spot ETF and policy shifts ahead of Trump's 2024 election campaign may represent a cyclical peak for the crypto market, with a low probability of subsequent improvement. About two-thirds of MVDA's components consist of Bitcoin.
