Bessent noted that Federal Reserve Chair Walsh, appointed by Trump, is "fully aware" that the U.S. economy is achieving growth results similar to the internet boom of the 1990s, and even "more remarkable." Bessent pointed out that then-Federal Reserve Chair Greenspan "allowed the economy to develop freely," and that "the Federal Reserve Board and policymakers should maintain an open mindset, as this involves factors related to deregulation."
Bessent also stated: "Core inflation has been very stable and has actually declined over the past few months.
