Lots of buzz happening in the BTC ecosystem lately, worth keeping an eye on 1/ Tether CEO @paoloardoino announced plans to issue USDT on Bitcoin, leveraging infrastructure provided by @utexocom and @RGB_Hub. Fun fact: USDT was originally issued on Bitcoin's Omni Layer back in 2014. This marks a return after 12 years. 2/ @AlpenLabs announced a partnership with Circle to issue USDC on Bitcoin. This could pave the way for building lending and yield markets based on native BTC, unlocking BTC's financial derivative value. This is a real demand + business model combo. Projects like Shell Finance and BitWay were early attempts at this concept. 3/ @allocinitxyz released a whitepaper proposing privacy features for Bitcoin without altering Bitcoin itself or waiting for OP_CAT. Privacy needs are back in the spotlight. While it's still in the cryptographic research and validation phase and far from a production-ready engineering solution, it's definitely an attempt worth watching.
