[CFTC: Tokenized Assets Allowed for Customer Funds Compliance, Blockchain Record-Keeping Recognized]
According to an official announcement by the CFTC, the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) recently updated its crypto asset FAQ through a joint effort by three departments. It clarified that registered derivatives merchants can treat tokenized money market fund shares and other compliant customer fund investment products as equivalent to traditional forms of assets. CFTC staff stated that they do not oppose relevant entities using blockchain or other distributed ledger technologies for record-keeping to meet federal record-keeping requirements.
