Celebrity coins are on fire again! Launchpad PAID skyrocketed 4X, and Elon Musk's X Money has already received $142,000.
Over the past couple of days, random X Money accounts owned by foreigners have mysteriously started receiving thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars. Musk has accumulated about $142,000, Solana's official account is nearing $95,000, Beff has over $85,000, and Maye Musk has more than $57,000.
All this money is coming from the MEME launchpad UsePaid. The community can directly issue tokens around any X account, and the creator fees generated from transactions are split: 80% is automatically converted into USD and sent to the person's X Money account, while the remaining 20% is used to buy PAID and burn it.
This mechanism eliminates the most troublesome step of the old celebrity coin model. Previously, when communities issued tokens for celebrities, they had to wait for the celebrity to claim the fees and bind their wallet to receive them.
Now, all you need is an X username. The community can issue the tokens themselves, and the fees are directly airdropped into the celebrity's X Money account. The celebrity doesn’t even need to participate.
As of now, the disclosed amounts are:
- Musk: ~$142,000
- Solana: ~$95,000
- Beff: ~$86,000
- Maye Musk: ~$57,000
- Crémieux: ~$45,000
- Nikita Bier: ~$40,000
- Vlad Tenev: ~$39,000
- Kevin Bass & SteveWillDoIt: both over ~$34,000
The old celebrity coin model was about riding on a celebrity's clout.
Now it has evolved into: the celebrity doesn’t even need to issue tokens themselves. The community does it for them and sends the money straight to their X Money account.
