[CoinEx Founder: Dual-Signature Hot Wallet Architecture Worthy of Industry Adoption, Single System Breach Still Cannot Steal Funds]
CoinEx founder Yang Haipo stated in a post that although CoinEx is in the process of shutting down, its hot wallet system remains relatively advanced and is worth learning from for other industry practitioners. CoinEx employs an MPC-based dual-signature solution to manage its hot wallets, eliminating single points of failure. Its infrastructure consists of two completely independent systems: a business system and a wallet system, each managed by separate teams holding one private key each. All withdrawals or transfers require real-time risk assessments from both systems. Even if one system is compromised, attackers still cannot directly steal assets. Yang Haipo noted that the challenge of this solution lies in independently implementing the wallet signing process rather than relying on the native mechanisms of various nodes. Over the course of more than a year, CoinEx modified the vast majority of the nearly 300 chains it supports, one by one.
