Many friends have asked me to check with @Bitget_zh about when withdrawals will reopen. I did talk to some folks about it. Previously, when Bybit was hacked, they reopened withdrawals quickly because only ethereum:native was affected, so the situation was relatively simpler to manage. Plus, they quickly identified the issue as being related to the multi-signature channel. This time, however, the Bitget hack involves multiple tokens and networks, making it much more complex. In such cases, exchanges are understandably cautious about reopening withdrawals for security reasons. At the very least, they need to ensure there are no other vulnerabilities to avoid further issues after withdrawals resume. If my personal analysis is correct, the losses from this hack are equivalent to less than a year’s profit, so it shouldn’t cause major problems for Bitget. Additionally, Bitget has brought in third-party experts, Mandiant and SlowMist, to assist with the investigation. Of course, we all hope they can identify the vulnerabilities soon, reopen withdrawals quickly, and ease everyone’s concerns.
