It's the holidays, and Bitget got hacked for $351.6 million. I still have funds on BG, hoping everything will be fine. According to the official announcement, the protection fund is much larger than the stolen amount, so users' funds should be safe. When I saw BG got hacked, my first thought was to buy the dip at ethereum:0x54d2252757e1672eead234d27b1270728ff90581, but it only dipped slightly, didn’t crash, and there was no chance to buy the dip. For so many years, whenever a centralized exchange has issues, the first thing they do is suspend user withdrawals. While it’s understandable, it’s really not Web3. Embracing on-chain solutions is the way forward. Based on past incidents, exchanges usually give out rewards to users who choose to stay after withdrawals reopen.
