[Survey: About half of young Americans are more interested in new investments like cryptocurrency, and nearly two-thirds believe the stock market is a more realistic path to wealth than homeownership] A recent survey by Bank of America involving 5,000 American adults reveals that Americans, led by Gen Z and Millennials, are redefining traditional paths to wealth accumulation. 62% of Gen Z and 61% of Millennials believe the stock market is a more realistic path to wealth accumulation than buying a home; 48% of Gen Z and 47% of Millennials find new investments like cryptocurrency more appealing than traditional investments. However, 76% to 79% still believe traditional investments are the best option for long-term goals. Young investors' attitudes toward cryptocurrency are not entirely optimistic—over the past year, 30% of Gen Z and 28% of Millennials reported a decline in trust in cryptocurrency, while during the same period, 33% and 29% respectively reported an increase in trust in stocks.
