According to Wu Blockchain, Samourai Wallet co-founder Keonne Rodriguez shared a post from prison stating that he was previously transferred to FCI McKean to participate in a program that could reduce his sentence by one year upon completion. What was supposed to be a roughly 4-hour transfer ended up taking 30 days and spanned three states. However, shortly after arriving, the prison informed him that the program had been 'discontinued,' and Rodriguez, along with about 70 other participants, would be transferred again to another prison where the program is still active. He estimated that this new round of transfers could cost taxpayers around $700,000. Rodriguez, co-founder of the Bitcoin privacy wallet Samourai Wallet, was sentenced in 2025 to 5 years in prison and fined $250,000 for conspiracy to operate an unregistered money transmission business. https://www.(wublock123.com)/news/keonne-rodriguez-prisons-mismanagement-70-inmates-transferred-cost-700k-taxpayers-68912
