🇷🇺BREAKING: Russia's "Digital Ruble" hits nearly 200,000 accounts in three weeks as central bank declares "financial sovereignty." Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina tells Putin the September 1 nationwide launch "went according to plan," with 36 banks now connected. The digital ruble is issued directly by the central bank, pays no interest and records the full history of every transaction, with top-ups capped at 300,000 rubles a month. "These are all elements that shape our financial sovereignty," she adds, after the EU banned all dealings with the digital ruble in May to stop Russia using it to shield itself from sanctions.
