Prime Minister Anthony Albanese @AlboMP and I signed a bilateral security agreement between Ukraine and Australia, opening up even more opportunities to deepen our partnership. Today, Australia also announced a new $60 million defense contribution for energy, protective equipment, and humanitarian assistance. I thanked the Prime Minister for this important support and assured him that Ukraine, in return, is ready to share our experience and technologies. Naval drones, ground platforms, and AI-powered systems – all of these go far beyond purely combat applications and can significantly strengthen national security. We agreed that our teams will work on preparing a Drone Deal. Australia has also introduced a new sanctions package targeting Russia’s accomplices and shadow fleet vessels. This is a very appropriate signal at a time when there are attempts in Europe to remove Putin’s oligarchs from sanctions lists.
