[IonQ Quantum Computer to Support NVIDIA Quantum Lab] IonQ CEO Niccolo de Masi stated last year that he hopes to position IonQ as the 'NVIDIA of quantum computing.' Now, this goal is being advanced in another way. On Wednesday, IonQ announced that its latest quantum computer, the Superion 256, will become the first system deployed at NVIDIA's Quantum Research Center. Unlike operating as a standalone device in a lab, the Superion 256 will function as a dedicated coprocessor, working in tandem with NVIDIA GPU clusters. Through NVIDIA's CUDA-Q software, quantum computing-related tasks will be allocated to the Superion 256, while NVIDIA's GB200 GPUs will simultaneously handle large-scale classical computing and artificial intelligence tasks.
