I first proposed fee abstraction for Fantom in 2019. Formalized it into a spec called fee subsidies in 2021. Cool to see if finally implemented as fee sponsorship in 2026 as part of the v2.2 release. Still some catches like revert drain spam that needs to be addressed, and I think I do have a better solution, but still very cool; From user/ux perspective, no native token required in wallet to transact.
