Users can deposit native BTC into self-custodial vaults on Bitcoin L1 and use it as collateral to borrow USDC on Ethereum and other EVM networks, without needing to wrap BTC or perform cross-chain transfers. Users' BTC remains in independent vaults on the Bitcoin network, separate from other users' assets, with vault status verified and transmitted to EVM networks via BitVM. Currently, the demo employs a wallet limit mechanism, allowing users to test the complete lending process using real BTC and USDC. After completing external audits, Zest Protocol plans to further advance the official launch and institutional collaborations.
