[AI Startup Firmus Backed by NVIDIA in Talks for $10 Billion Financing] According to Golden Finance, on September 23, Australian AI startup Firmus Technologies is in discussions with lending institutions for approximately $10 billion in financing to purchase NVIDIA chips for its data center in Indonesia. If the deal is finalized, it could become one of the largest AI infrastructure transactions in Asia. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that the company plans to raise around $7.5 billion in debt financing, along with approximately $2.5 billion in equity financing. The financing arrangement may have a term of five years. Firmus declined to comment. Firmus's negotiations come as the company plans to conduct an IPO at the end of October, which could raise up to $5 billion, making it one of the largest IPOs in Australia. The funds raised will be used to purchase GPUs for its 360-megawatt NVIDIA DSX AI factory campus located on Batam Island, Indonesia. The campus is being jointly developed with DayOne Data Centers and is part of the company's eight-year partnership with NVIDIA.
