1 minute, 1 million RMB. Yesterday afternoon, Binance spot $USDe dropped to 0.9202, and someone had a buy order waiting to catch it. I checked Binance's trade history. Between 13:04:18 and 13:04:48, in just 30 seconds, 6.98 million tokens were traded below 0.925, with 5.72 million of them scooped up at 0.9207. From 13:05 to 13:06, 3.68 million tokens were sold off at 0.99. By 13:07, the price had bounced back to 0.9987. All of this happened in less than 7 minutes. During these 7 minutes, buy orders below 0.999, if sold back at 0.999, would have made a total spread of about $1.08 million. One guy in our group pocketed $150K alone. The craziest part was the placement of the buy order. Between 11:00 and 13:00 today, this trading pair on Binance only had 25 trades totaling 7,000 tokens, and his order was just sitting there at 0.9207, waiting. Meanwhile, I was staring at ETH’s sideways movement this afternoon. When the group chat buzzed about the depeg, my phone vibrated, but I couldn’t be bothered to check. A stablecoin. 7 minutes. $150K. The guy who placed the order didn’t even need to watch the chart.
