[Fei-Fei Li: AI safety assessments should not solely be the responsibility of development companies, independent evaluation standards need to be established]
According to Bloomberg, Fei-Fei Li, co-founder of World Labs and professor at Stanford University, stated that increasingly capable AI systems should not rely solely on development companies to assess their safety. While companies can internally test the capabilities and safety attributes of their models, academia, governments, and industries must collaboratively establish broader independent evaluation standards. She believes that the potential risks of AI depend on how humans develop, govern, and use this technology, and that humans must maintain control. Fei-Fei Li also mentioned that World Labs is developing a 'world model' capable of generating and reconstructing 3D environments, with related technologies applicable to scenarios such as robot training and evaluation.
