This morning, the Government of Jamaica and the World Bank formalised a grant agreement to support the National Reconstruction Implementation Support Project, with support from the European Union. This support will strengthen the systems, capacity and technical expertise needed to deliver Jamaica’s reconstruction programme effectively following Hurricane Melissa. We have an opportunity to reorganise how we plan, coordinate and deliver reconstruction, while building institutional knowledge and skills that will remain in Jamaica. Our national mission is to rebuild, strengthen productivity and drive Jamaica’s resurgence, while building greater resilience for our people and communities.
